The pioneering initiative was born from an idea conceived and initiated by the BioRegional Development Group (BRGD), an independent, entrepreneurial environmental organisation, architect Bill Dunster and the Peabody Trust housing association.
So successful is the scheme that the BRGD is working in partnership with the WWF on a project to produce a concept design for a 2,000-home zero-waste, zero-carbon One Planet Living community.
