The BTSG chose to meet monthly except for the months of July and December.
The literature suggests that meeting in a neutral place is preferable over a hospital setting because of the negative emotional association many have with the treatment setting. However, this BTSG chose the hospital as a centrally-located facility that was familiar to all.
Our BTSG membership is open to all parents of children who are treated for a brain tumor at Children's Hospital Medical Center.
Minority groups and men use these groups less often. This BTSG is fairly typical in that 70% of those who attend are female.
