classes on Friday, July 26 and British Riding Clubs area showjumping qualifiers on Sunday, July 28.
Martyn Johnson, from the event's organising committee, said: "The Burgham International Horse Trials has grown in stature year on year and we're really proud to welcome many leading world event riders over the course of the four days, as well as the prestigious Burghley Young Event Horse
qualifiers which make a welcome return to the programme.
There are also hunter classes, event breeding and young stock classes and the Burghley young event horse
Both were impressed by the overall standard with the winner, Early Rising, having won the Burghley Young Event Horse
class as a five-year-old.
The North Warwickshire Pony Club rider from Eastern Green, was among the competitors at the British Championships at Gatcombe Park, where she took part in the Winnergy Burghley Young Event Horse
As well as the horses at the very top of their game, spectators can see the most promising young horses of the future in the Dubarry Burghley Young Event Horse
qualifiers, which are hotly contested by those hoping to win a place at the final at Burghley Horse Trials a month later.
The proceedings started yesterday as competitors in the CIC3*, CIC2* and CIC* international classes performed their dressage tests in the main International Arena and the equine stars of the future took part in the Dubarry Burghley Young Event Horse
The Owen Pugh Burgham International Horse Trials event also features Dubarry Burghley Young Event Horse
qualifiers and an excellent selection of British Showjumping classes, ranging from British Novice to the Burgham Classic 1.40m Grand Prix, for which there is PS3,000 of prize money on offer.
In addition, the event horses of the future will be on show in the Burghley Young Event Horse
Qualifier on the Friday.
This year sees the continued development of British Show Jumping at Burgham and the prestigious Burghley Young Event Horse
The additions of the Burghley Young Event Horse
and the return of British Showjumping provided a feast of horsemanship on display for the many visitors welcomed over the weekend.
New additions to this summer's event include onsite stabling, a second arena and the return of the Burghley Young Event Horse
and British Showjumping by popular demand.
