15 January 2014 - Giuseppe Guzzetti, the head of Italy's Cariplo
banking foundation, is not engaged in negotiations to acquire a stake in troubled lender Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:BMPS) from its largest investor, he told reporters on Wednesday as cited by Reuters.

Foundation's chairman, Giuseppe Guzzetti, came after financial newspaper, Affari & Finanza, said that in the coming months, Fondiaria-SAI, Mediobanca and the Bank of Italy could offer stakes in Generali for sale.
