In addition, participants received a list of questions to ask during review of the research article as well as the critique form used at CAVHS. Preparation enabled nurses to be familiar with the articles and forms, facilitating discussion in the class.
The workshop resulted in a resurgence of journal clubs offered at CAVHS. Evaluations have improved as individuals leading the groups have become more confident in their roles, and nurses are beginning to respond to the journal clubs by creating opportunities for change.
Together with its affiliates, Arkansas Children's Hospital (ACH) and the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS), direct expenditures were approximately $1.27 billion (Figure 2).
