Although GOED has been part of an Informal Industry Work Group (IIWG) that was established, not to mention recognized by, the Swiss Delegation, to ensure that all issues were considered before Switzerland submitted its proposal for new work to the CCFO
, it remains concerned that the adopted standard will not be flexible enough to allow for rapid innovation and natural variations in oil composition owing to environmental factors.
In the countdown to the next meeting, from 19 to 23 February in London, of the Codex Alimentarius Committee on Fats and Oils (CCFO
), the EU Member States have prepared a series of comments on the draft code, which aims to allow for the transport of edible fats and oils in bulk under conditions, which avoid contamination by a substance previously transported in the same container.
Nuno Alves, the chief financial officer (CCFO
) of EDP and Huang Hong, the managing director of the Bank of China in Luxembourg signed the loan documents in Lisbon.
Thirdly the CAC endorsed the decision of its Codex Committee on Fats and Oils (CCFO
) to develop a "Standard for Fish Oils," which will cover oil from fish and shellfish; and on the additives front, it agreed to a maximum level for the use of steviol glycosides (INS 960) as an additive in food supplements, at the level of 2500 mg/kg as proposed by JADSA.
It is therefore important that this aspect be developed in the Code, because "in certain cases, cleaning measures have to be specifically adapted to the nature of the substance transported in the previous cargo".The EU claims it is important that the CCFO
takes into consideration the work of the CCFH (Codex Committee on Food Hygiene), which is currently studying a Draft Code of Hygienic Practice for Transport of Food in Bulk and Semi-Packed Food.
Delegate to the Codex Committee on Fats and Oils (CCFO
) of the Codex Alimentarius Commission (Codex) for consideration.
