The partnership project is composed of different research institutions, public administration, and representatives of private sector, including the University of Cagliari in Italy, the Association of the Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASCAME) in Spain, the Promotional Services Centre for enterprises (CSPI) in Italy, the Confederation of Egyptian European Business Associations (CEEBA) in Egypt, the Industrial Research Institute (IRI) in Lebanon, the Royal Scientific Society (RSS) in Jordan, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tunis (CCI Tunis) in Tunisia.
The conference was organised in partnership with Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Investment, GAFI and the European Union delegation to Egypt, and in cooperation with the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC), the Federation of Egyptian Industries and the CEEBA.
Chairman of CEEBA, Nader Riad, stated that the democratic process has placed the political agenda at the forefront, which overshadowed the economic one; a problem he hoped would be resolved with the formation new House of Representatives.
Confederation of Egyptian European Business Association (CEEBA) Chairman Mahmoud El Kaissy welcomed Franco in the Marriott Zamalek Hotel to discuss the new phase of European-Egyptian Cooperation.
The CEEBA was founded in 2004 to create a stronger platform for Euro-Egyptian relations.
Other key CEEBA objectives include the promotion of pan-Euro trade, investment and technology transfer, outreach to EU economic programs, the implementation of Egyptian-European projects and to also act as a chamber of commerce for EU member states which do not hold one.
The General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) and the Confederation of Egyptian European Business Associations (CEEBA), the two signers, sent high-ranking delegations to the event which took place at the GAFI offices in Nasr City.
"We strongly believe in this union," echoed CEEBA Chairman Sherif Abdel Latif.
"EGY Finance is an initiative of the business community aiming at supporting the business community in its strive to modernize, globalize and grow," said Alaa Ezz, secretary general of the Confederation of Egyptian European Business Associations (CEEBA), the body organizing the conference.
