The grades established for each category of institutions are: eight grades for primary school teachers, 10 grades for secondary school teachers, six grades for teachers at Centre for Mathematics, Science Technology Education in Africa (CEMASTEA), eight grades for teachers in TVET institutions, seven grades for teachers in TTCs and eight grades for teachers in KISE.GRADESbrUnder special needs education institutions, in primary schools, there will be five grades, eight grades in secondary and eight grades in TVET.
CEMASTEA director, Stephen Njoroge, said the institution is committed to training teachers with skills which can be passed on to thousands of students."We have trained a hundreds of teachers, however we are calling for more support as the number of teachers being trained has drastically gone done," said Mr NjorogeMs Mohammed said the ministry is committed at ensuring that the institution is training more teachers.
"The courses will be accessed at school level with training centres during school holidays and online."She said the service providers for TPD would include, among others, Centre for Mathematics, Science and Technology Education in Africa (Cemastea), the British Council and teacher training institutions.
