The fundamental possibility for bioconversion of airborne MA was studied using a continuous reactor of the CFBR type that contained CA-gel beads with immobilized AMO, compared to a control system with blank CA-gel beads.
8mMin both the CFBR and the control column, and in the latter case it remained high during the entire experiment.
The CFBR was further examined at a high airflow rate of 132 mL[min.sup.-1] when the AMO loading was 13.3 U [g.sup.-1] CA and the inlet concentration of the airborne MA was 10 ppm (Figure 6).
Bioconversion of MA is known to produce FA, and, therefore, a system of two continuous CFBR, connected in series, was built for bioconversion of both the airborne MA and the produced FA (Figure 2).
