The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute has granted $18 million to several key CFHA member investigators to study the relationship between integration maturity and clinical outcomes much in the same fashion as Barbara Starfield and her associates demonstrated the relationship between the maturity of primary care systems and population health (Starfield, Shi, & Macinko, 2005).
CFHA has been at the forefront of this IBH reform movement for 20 years.
