CANSOFCOM's Canadian Joint Incident Response Unit (CJIRU) will receive new equipment through what is being called the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive (CBRNE) Enhancement Project.
Caption: In August 2014, during his annual tour of Canada's northern territories, Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Rob Nicholson, Minister of National Defence, watched as members of the Canadian Joint Incident Response Unit (CJIRU) rappel onto the Explorer cruise ship as part of Operation NANOOK.
The project will procure systems currently in use by CJIRU as well invest in opportunities that will provide improvements for those systems.
