This new contract comes after COCESNA
recently entrusted Indra with modernization of key control centers and towers in Costa Rica for more than 12 million dollars.
As part of the agreement, Thales will provide COCESNA
with a full set of aeronautical information products, including equipment and training for an AMHS and latest generation aeronautical database in compliance to International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) transition from AIS to AIM.
The multinational has agreed with COCESNA
to equip this center with an advanced system that complies with the Level 3 NAM protocol, the most advanced means of streamlining coordination between control centers when transferring the responsibility for the management of a flight.
COCESNA, is the body responsible for the provision of air navigation services in the airspace over these five Central American states.
It allows COCESNA to gain experience on data link communications and to optimize air traffic management and communication in the oceanic portion of our air space, which is vital for the air traffic flow between North and South America.
