The key term behind CPHIT is "population health." According to Jonathan Weiner, Ph.D., professor of health policy and management at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and director of CPHIT, the center will look at how electronic health records (EHRs), patient health records (PHRs), and other eHealth applications can link data across an entire community, leading to evidence-based outcomes.
The CPHIT, which has had a "soft start," will be based in the Bloomberg School of Public Health's Department of Health, Policy and Management with faculty from there, the School of Medicine, the Whiting School of Engineering, and the Carey Business School at Johns Hopkins University; and the Johns Hopkins Health System.
