The following examples of conferences, institutes, and books are illustrative: Every year a conference dealing with Diasporas and Multiculturalism is held by the Centre for Research on Nationalism, Ethnicity, and Multiculturalism, (
CRONEM) at the University of Surrey, England, Among the 180 papers and posters at the 2009 conference, attended by the author, not one, at least as judging by the titles, dealt with Jews, or Israelis--not in Britain, or the Middle East, or anywhere.
Organized by the Centre for Research on Nationalism, Ethnicity and Multiculturalism (
CRONEM), the aim of this conference is to debate the history and seek new avenues by bringing together different generations from inside and outside universities so that we can learn from each other's experiences and views.
