CUENet's videoconferencing technology is basically a digital "picture phone" that transmits a television picture over conventional telephone lines.
CUENet staff member David Kluth, explains, "CUENet runs on three basic technologies: telephone, television and computer.
CUENet allows the image and voice of an instructor in one location to be presented in real time on large screen monitors in a classroom thousands of miles away.
Each CUENet classroom consists of four large monitor screens for students to view the instructor and students from another location.
CUENet offers the professors of CUS two days of intensive training in how to operate the equipment, organize their class for this environment and build rapport with their long-distance students.
