The CZOP said that the Maoists' general strike affected the ongoing examination of 300,500 students conducted by Higher Secondary Education Board and Centre for Technical Education and Vocational Training.
The CZOP also urged the Maoist to withdraw its protest programmes saying that the general strike has been a violation of Convention on the Rights of the Child, 1989 and its Optional Protocol, 2000 and children's fundamental rights related to education and child protection enshrined in the Interim Constitution of Nepal, 2007.
Although the bid received from CZOP was the highest of three proposals, supervisors Reynold Scicchitano and Joseph Zanella said they approved the contracts because they best suit the needs of the township.
