Broadcom's BCM5324 24-port FE switch contains 24 full-duplex 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX FE over copper transceivers, each of which performs all of the PHY interface functions for 10BASE-T Ethernet on Category 3, 4 and 5 unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cable and 100BASE-TX Fast Ethernet on Category 5 UTP cable. In addition, the BCM5324 has two GMII/RGMII/TBI interfaces providing flexible 10/100/1000BASE-TX/FX connectivity.
Manufactured using 0.13[mu] CMOS process technology, the chip integrates a 24-port 10/100 Megabit per second (Mbps) FE switch which contains 24 full-duplex 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX FE over copper transceivers, each of which performs all of the PHY interface functions for 10BASE-T Ethernet on Category 3, 4 and 5 unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cable and 100BASE-TX Fast Ethernet on Category 5 UTP cable. The FE ports can support up to 24 workgroup desktop users and the GbE ports can be used as connections to file servers or uplinks.
