Many researchers have studied the properties of ordinary Portland cement concrete and steel fibre reinforced concrete using fly ash, silica fume, as cement replacement materials. Due to the associated environmental pollution caused in the production of cement to reserve the virgin raw materials used in cement making for future generations and at the same time due to the availability of supplementary cementing materials like Metakaolin which is an engineered material, an attempt has been made to study strength and durability properties of Metakaolin concrete with and without crimped steel fibres.
Due to above mentioned reasons, researchers are seeking for cheap and easily available cement replacement materials.

This phenomenon has prompted many researches during the past decades to switch direction towards the utilization of waste materials such as fly ash, wood waste ash, slag and silica fume as partial cement replacement materials to improve durability and sustainability of the blended cement concrete while reduced the cost and the negative environmental effects related to OPC production.
Cement Replacement Materials (CRM) possess nature of pozzolanic material which can improve the characteristics of concrete.

Judging from the results obtained for 5% and 10% replacements it can be concluded that the mud can be used as a cement replacement material.
The first one was the cement-bentonite mixture and the second one was the cement-bentonite mixture produced by using GGBS (BS EN 15167-1) as the cement replacement material, which can bring benefits to strength, setting ability, and reduction in permeability [15].
