The estimates of the average cost effectiveness ratios at the national level do not reveal a convincing geographic pattern, nor a relationship between cost effectiveness and state size (see Figure 1).
When the incidence of major complications and uptake of screening were increased, the cost effectiveness ratio fell to pounds 6,200 per major outcome averted for screening women only.
In order to be eligible for selection the projects submitted must have a good cost effectiveness ratio; demonstrate effective balance and balanced cooperation between all the partners at the level of proposal design, financial participation, and project implementation.
Due to this inability to identify a most plausible ICER (incremental cost effectiveness ratio), it could not be recommended by the committee as a viable use of NHS resources.
The most believable incremental cost effectiveness ratio for the comparison of etelcalcetide and cinacalcet was found to be between GBP14,778 to GBP26,647 per QALY gained, however, the committee considered that differences in the price of the vial sizes could further increase this uncertainty.
Model endpoints included overall survival, costs, quality-adjusted life years and incremental cost effectiveness ratio. The analysis considered a lifetime horizon from the standpoint of a public payer (using Medicare reimbursement rates) and an accepted cost-effectiveness threshold of USD 50,000 per QALY.
These incremental benefit and incremental cost estimates imply cost effectiveness ratios of $23,251 per graft failure avoided in 2000, $56,712 avoided in 2001, and $72,684 avoided in 2002.
Lastly, the favorable cost effectiveness ratios suggested by this exercise depended heavily on the assumption that the disparity between income quartiles 1 and 4 that appears during the second post transplant year is related to the cancellation of coverage at the beginning of the fourth post transplant year.
Cost effectiveness ratios. Table 6 shows the unit costs of P reductions from the baseline values for each of the eight alternative scenarios calculated as total cost to farmers divided by the total reduction achieved for the indicator.
First, the differences in the cost effectiveness ratios might be due to differences in the initial nutrient loadings.
