During Ahmadi-nejad's first term, Mashai was a vice president and the head of the Cultural Heritage and Tourism Organization. He gained renown a year ago for making speeches in which he said Iran was hostile to Israel but not to Israelis as a people.
Now the State Audit Court has found Mashai guilty of a contracting offense while at the Cultural Heritage and Tourism Organization and ordered him suspended from government employment for two months.
