, Clr Jim Dodds, said discussions about opening hours and access to the different services were currently underway.
It is thought planners had an out-ofdate document based on the DDCP
's larger scheme, which was scrapped earlier this year after a Lottery funding bid failed.
Clr Dodds, who is chair of the DDCP
trustees, said he was delighted to finally sign the official paperwork.
"All I'd like to ask the council is to continue to keep paying the utilities until such a time that the budget is worked out and we either pull out of the building or DDCP
look at how we can find the money to take it over from Kirklees Council."
Over the last four months DDCP
volunteers have been supporting paid staff at the library and there are now 17 volunteers regularly working there.
