Punctate WM lesions (PWMLs) were defined as small areas of high signal on T1-weighted images and of mostly low signal on T2-weighted images.[13],[14] Diffuse excessive high signal intensity (DEHSI) was defined as areas of excessive high SI diffused within the periventricular and/or subcortical WM on T2-weighted images.[15],[16]
