Sheilah has thrown her support behind the launch of a new on-line resource - Parents of Children with Congenital Heart Disease - which has been developed by the British Heart Foundation and the charity DIPEx.
Dr Ann McPherson, the founder of DIPEx, said: "Information to help parents understand how congenital heart disease is going to affect their child and lifestyle isn't always available from doctors or medical research which is why this new resource is so beneficial.
The proposed database, DIPEX (the Database of Individual Patient Experience), which will be available as a multi-media resource via the Internet and as a CD ROM, will be unique in the field of patient and healthcare communication.
The project was led by Dr Alison Chapple, a senior research fellow at Oxford University, who said: "Some men feel uncomfortable talking about their health and this latest addition to the Dipex website should help them access information more easily.
