Accelerating Progress Against TB in Kenya (APA-K) will extend access to quality-assured TB services in all districts and for all forms of TB, through the identification and implementation of evidence-based activities that support and/or complement the activities of the DLTLD.
In 2005, DLTLD added key HIV-related information to the local TB facility register and the district-level reporting forms: HIV testing status for TB patients, HIV test results, and receipt of cotrimoxazole prophylaxis, which are available directly from TB clinic records, and information about ART during TB treatment, which generally is based on patient reports of care received at separate HIV clinics (8).
However, the findings in this report show that DLTLD has been successful in providing key HIV services within the existing TB program infrastructure.
