Median levels of air diethyl phthalate (DEP) in cosmetics (1.77 [micro]g/[m.sup.3]) and perfume (1.75 [micro]g/[m.sup.3]) groups and di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) in perfume group (6.98 [micro]g/[m.sup.3]) were higher than those in clothing group (DEP: 0.89; DEHP: 2.16 [micro]g/[m.sup.3]).
Furthermore, diethyl phthalate and diethyl toluamide are both frequently classified as positives in cell-based assays (Ashikaga et al., 2010; Piroird et al., 2015), while Tween 80 is consistently classified as a sensitizer in numerous assays (Emter et al., 2013; Piroird et al., 2015; Ramirez et al., 2014).
The ethyl cellulose and diethyl phthalate were dissolved and mixed together in ethyl acetate.

Prenatal exposure to the following phthalates: diethyl phthalate (DEP), di-iso-butyl phthalate (DiBP), di-n-butyl phthalate (DnBP), butyl-benzyl phthalate (BBzP), di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), di-iso-nonyl phthalate (DiNP) and di-n-octyl phthalate (DOP) was determined by measuring phthalate metabolites in the spot urine collected from the mothers between the 30-34th week of pregnancy.
Diethyl phthalate, or DEP, is a common ingredient in cosmetics, perfumes and personal-care products such as shampoos.

Specifically, the rule would apply to manufacturers of certain products that contain intentionally added di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), dibutyl phthalate (DBP), benzyl butyl phthalate (BBP), or diethyl phthalate (DEP).
Diethyl phthalate (DEP) and triacetin (TA) were obtained from Sigma Aldrich.
Also, dimethyl phthalate (DMP), diethyl phthalate (DEP), and DEHP have been shown to influence the activity of retinal aldolase [14].
Among the suspected endocrine disruptors (EDCs) found in some feminine hygiene products are parabens, which are used as preservatives, and fragrance ingredients including diethyl phthalate. Chemicals from plastics may also be of potential concern, given that many feminine hygiene products have applicators.
