Antibiotic resistance of thermotolerant Campylobacter isolated from patients with diarrhoea in 2000/01 and 2010 determined by the disc diffusion and E-tests. E-test strips (Oxoid, Basingstoke, Hampshire, UK) according to the manufacturer's instructions with innocula prepared as for the disc test.
This issue is particularly true of the E-tests of practical significance since these tests are based upon the ratios of eta-between and eta-within correlations from dyads.
We emphasize that the WABA I test of statistical significance (the F-test) is not biased by group size since the F-test is based upon ratios of Mean-squares and not ratios of Sums of squares, as are the E-tests. By using Mean-squares, the tests of statistical significance provide a correction for group size.
We did not find resistance to tigecycline with BMD and E-test methods.
baumannii serotypes were 0.03-1.0 ug/mL and 0.06-1.5 ug/mL according to BMD and E-test, respectively.
In this study, we found a 42% resistance to tigecycline with the disc diffusion method; however, BMD and E-test are more reliable methods for testing this antibiotic,24 and we did not find any resistance to tigecycline with these methods.
The interaction of antibiotic combinations can be tested in vitro using various methods such as E-test, checkerboard, and time-kill.
