ECLC is celebrating its 30th year in a former Chatham public school building.
ECLC stands for offering "Education, Careers & Lifelong Community" to children and adults with special needs, including autism, Down syndrome and other developmental disabilities.
ECLC of New Jersey, which provides lifelong services for those with special needs, utilizes the location for its executive offices and its P.R.I.D.E.
ECLC New Jersey was represented by Robert Donnelly, Jr.
Activities in the ECLC alternated between free play and group time.
At each session, only 12 of the 22 preservice teachers interacted with the preschoolers every day during the three-week session at the ECLC. These preservice teachers worked in pairs.
Lectures for each course are pre-recorded on video and ECLC students access the lectures through their Echostar satellite dishes, or by purchasing the video set.
ECLC students were expected to write reflection papers, post to discussion boards, and generally translate their content understanding to a written format.
Eileen continues to spearhead a partnership and cooperative learning program with a Ho Ho-Kus elementary public school located less than a mile from ECLC
