The EuPF says it strongly opposes a ban on plastic carrier bags as it believes the alternatives would see far more environmental harm in the long run as several life cycle analysis studies have proven.
Mr Turner echoed EuPF's description of the attitude in Britain towards re-using bags and said that Britons had proved that the industry was highly responsible, "engaging in a voluntary code of reduction, helping educate consumers on the need to 'reduce, reuse and recycle' and taking back unwanted plastic for recycling into long-life products".
