, according to the World Health Organization (WHO) and the U.S.

The Ministry of Health (MoH) of DR Congo had declared a new outbreak of EVD
in North Kivu Province on August 1 this year.

procedures used a technique referred to as the 'blind' freehand technique, in which the surgeon uses anatomical landmarks on the outside of the patient's head together with knowledge of brain anatomy to undertake the procedure, without being able to see the exact area to operate.
