"The biggest thing girls need is to have more role models in these industries stepping forward to mentor them." said EVIT counselor Pauline Acosta.
Leary is one of about 70 full-and part-time teachers at EVIT who has entered the classroom as a teacher after working for years in industries such as automotive, culinary arts, interior design, and HVAC, among others.
"Every class we offer is a reflection of industry need," said Sally Downey, EVIT superintendent.
"What sets EVIT apart from other career and technical training programs are its public and private partnerships that help ensure students are prepared to successfully transition into the workforce or higher education upon graduation," said EVIT Superintendent Sally Downey.
Business and industry add some 'real' to EVIT's CTE programs in a variety of ways.
