For LTP decisions, and because of the relatively open nature of Israeli abortion law, the Israeli Ministry of Health has authorized six hospitals to create the High Committees for the Elective Termination of Pregnancy. These committees are larger than the hospital committees, are multidisciplinary, and are made up of the highest level administrators: the director of the Medical Center, the director of the Obestrics and Gynecology Department, the director of the Neonatal Department, the director of the Genetic Counseling Department, and the director of the Social Work Department.
