Habib Essid received, Monday, a delegation of the INPT led by its president Hamida Dridi, who said that the meeting had been an occasion to review the material and logistical difficulties impeding action of the authority, which is still without a headquarter, according to a Prime Ministry press release.
The shocking reality for these and other figures in Essid's government, including the an-Nahda represntatives in the cabinet, was that almost 6,000 Tunisians - mostly males and the rest being young females of jihad al-nikah (the holy struggle through sex with the male jihadis) had left to fight for ISIS and other terrorist groups in Iraq and Syria and increasingly in neighbouring Libya.
Mr Essid says 36 attackers, seven civilians and 12 members of Tunisia's security forces died, and 17 others were injured.
And what can be said about the role of Essid's government in easing social tensions?
Security forces ended the siege, killing two of the attackers, while two or three escaped the scene and were being sought, Essid told a press conference.
"I made some adjustments so we can gather all political forces and get to work immediately on the challenges we are facing," Essid said.
Essid's government will be the first since landmark parliamentary and presidential elections last year that were the first freely contested ones in the history of the North African country.
"A majority of the members of the Shura Council voted for participation in the government of Habib Essid," Head of the Council Fathi al-Ayadi said following a meeting in the Northeastern city of Hammamet, the World Bulletin reported.
Essid's efforts were doomed by the lack of any posts for the second, fourth and fifth largest parties; the Islamist Ennahda (69 seats), the leftist Popular Front (15), and the secular Afek Tounes (8).
In a statement to the radio, Essid confirmed the news, adding that he had been in touch with the Algerian president to request permission to travel to Algeria to see his client.
