SUMMARY: The
extensor carpi radialis longus muscle (ECRLm) is located in the posterior compartment (extensor-supinator) of the forearm and has great importance in the closure of the hand.
During the following 5 to 10 minutes we verify the death signs (respiratory failure, absence of heart beat and opaque cornea) and subsequently we dissected soleus and
extensor carpi radialis longus muscles.
Abbreviations: AIS = American Spinal Injury Association Impairment Scale, C = cervical, C[O.sub.2] = carbon dioxide, ECRB = extensor carpi radialis brevis, ECRL =
extensor carpi radialis longus, ECU = extensor carpi ulnaris, EMG = electromyography, FES = functional electrical stimulation, FHO = flexor hinge orthosis, IP = interphalangeal, MCP = metacarpophalangeal, MMT = manual muscle test, MVC = maximum voluntary contraction, ROM = range of motion, SCI = spinal cord injury, WDFHO = wrist-driven flexor hinge orthosis.
The tendons of
extensor carpi radialis longus, extensor carpi radialis brevis (ECRB), extensor digitorum communis and the extensor carpi ulnaris make up the common extensor origin of the elbow.
Brachioradialis,
extensor carpi radialis longus and brevis and the flexor compartment muscles were noted to be dusky but viable.
This is particularly pertinent in patients with a SLL injury whereby using the DTM, the activity of the stabilising flexor carpi ulnaris (FCU) and
extensor carpi radialis longus is enhanced, whilst the activity of the potentially harmful ECU is demoted.

1), composed of the brachioradialis, the
extensor carpi radialis longus, and the extensor carpi radialis brevis muscles.
The extensor muscles included
extensor carpi radialis longus, extensor carpi radialis brevis, and extensor carpi ulnaris, as well as the extrinsic finger extensors to the ulnar three digits.
Motor branches to the brachialis (MB), brachioradialis (BR),
extensor carpi radialis longus (ECRL), extensor carpi radialis brevis (ECRB); superficial branch of the radial nerve; PIN and its branches to the supinator were identified.
Lasso surgery for intrinsic replacement, using the Flexor Digitorum Sublimus (FDS) of the middle or ring finger, the palmaris longus or
extensor carpi radialis longus with fascia lata graft, has been a standard procedure for correcting clawed fingers in leprosy.
