The fuel cell industry association Fuel Cell Europe (FCEu) has decided to open an office in Brussels 'to strengthen advocacy directed at European decision-makers and opinion leaders in government and industry'.
The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) recently joined with Fuel Cell Europe (FCEu) to launch a new report, titled "Fuel Cells for Distributed Power: Benefits, Barriers and Perspectives," which suggests that "[carbon dioxide (CO2)] emissions from the average European fossil power sector could be reduced by up to 50 percent if fuel cells [(FCs)] were used to supply electricity and heat."
WWF said it is now joining with FCEu in "[calling] on the European Commission to remove regulatory and institutional barriers to the commercial introduction of [FCs]."
