Few weeks ago, Gebru Asrat, vice president of FDDE
, Ethiopia's biggest opposition Coalition, told Sudan tribune that 450 opposition members, including potential candidates as having been arrested by the ruling EPRDF Party to secure victory in the upcoming election.
The alliance, Forum for Democratic Dialogue in Ethiopia (FDDE
), said that government cadres have intensified a new wave of arrests against opposition members on trumped-up charges to cripple them from running in Next Year's election.
As its primary plan of action, the opposition umbrella named as Forum for Democratic Dialogue in Ethiopia (FDDE
) in a joint statement said that it will enter into negotiation with government for expansion of democratic space and transparency ahead of the elections.
