BEIRUT: Disagreements over the controversial Bisri Dam took center stage Wednesday at a dialogue on water governance policy, where Ferid
Belhaj, the World Bank's regional vice president, insisted the project was a feasible solution to Lebanon's water shortage problem.
Belhaj noted that the UAE has been a strategic partner of the World Bank Group on various levels.

Belhaj praised the strong ties between Jordan and the World Bank, noting that the relations between the two sides have been developed through years of fruitful cooperation.

Belhaj is starting his new post this week in Beirut as vice president for the region at the World Bank, the group announced over the weekend.
