My most used load (even if not the most accurate) is the RCBS 45-405 FNGC over 52 grains of H322 for more than 2,000 fps from the Browning 1886.
My most accurate load for the .450 Marlin is a relatively mild one which uses the RCBS 45-405 FNGC over 46 grains of AA2495 for just under 1,400 fps.
When the bullet was switched to the hard cast style, the 300 grain RCBS Gas Check #45-300 FNGC over 52 grains of H322 put three shots into 1/2" at 50 yards and did it with a muzzle velocity of 1,850 fps.
Some examples are Cast Performance Bullet Co.'s hard cast, gas checked, flat nosed, heat treated bullets offered in weights of 405, 420, 440 and 460 grains; Crater Light's offering of both 420 and 550 FNGCs; Dry Creek's 430 FNGC; and Oregon Trail's flat nosed line of True Shot bullets are offered in weights of 350, 405, 430 and 500 grains.
44300 FNGC is 49.5 grains of H4895 for just over 1,900 fps.

My favorite bullet for this task is Cast Performance Bullet Co.'s 187-grain FNGC. I normally shoot these bullets to 1,200 to 1,300 fps in .357 sixguns, and the same load is duplicated in the .35 Remington with 15.0-grains of Accurate Arms XMP5744.
30-180 FN, however, now that Oregon Trail is offering a 170-grain FNGC (Flat-Nosed Gas Check), I don't find it as necessary to heat up the melting pot.
In .45 caliber, one of my all-time favorite bullets is BRP's 305-grain FNGC (flat-nosed gas check).
However, switching to gas check bullets, in this case RCBS's #37-250 FNGC, turned this .38-55 single-shot rifle into the proverbial tack driver.
