The Department of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation is charged with the responsibility of assessing the quality of service delivery and get a sense of essential interventions where needed employing mechanisms such as the Frontline Service Delivery Monitoring (FSDM).
These duties are performed as part of the Frontline Service Delivery Monitoring (FSDM) responsibilities.
As part of this visit the Minister will conduct unannounced Front Line Service Delivery Monitoring (FSDM) and community Imbizo to solicit inputs on how to enhance service delivery at the coalface of the public service.
As part of the Imbizo, Minister Rabebe will undertake unannounced visits at various government service points as part of the DPMEs, Frontline Service Delivery Monitoring (FSDM) which seeks to instill the culture of self-monitoring in departments so that improvements on the quality of service delivery is realized, with an overall aim of advancing planning, accountability, responsibility and reporting through monitoring.
The unannounced visits are part of the DPMEs focus area in improving front line service delivery through its Front Line Service Delivery Monitoring (FSDM) unit which works with the Offices of Premiers to monitor public service facilities through unannounced visits.
FSDM also ensures that in the medium term, by the year 2019, as stated in the National Development Plan the public service will have increased responsiveness of public servants, accountability to citizens and improved mechanisms to promote ethical behaviour in the public service.
Frontline Service Delivery Monitoring (FSDM) is DPME`s monitoring service in collaboration with the Provincial offices that has been and continues to monitor public service facilities through both unannounced visits and improvements monitoring meetings, with the aim of catalyzing service delivery improvements and highlight the importance of monitoring to sector departments.
The FSDM seeks to instill the culture of self-monitoring in departments so that improvements on the quality of service delivery is realised, with an overall aim of advancing planning, accountability, responsibility and reporting through monitoring.
A Frontline Service Delivery Monitoring (FSDM) visit was also conducted by the Deputy Minister at the Phagameng Clinic.
Minister in the Presidency for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation and Chairperson of the National Planning Commission, Jeff Radebe, will deliver the key note address at the Frontline Service Delivery Monitoring (FSDM) workshop.
Through these FSDM visits and interventions, the provincial government would continue to unblock some of these challenges.
