The alliance has been engineered by Gary Powling of Millfield Consulting and Mike Hayden, who heads the Swansea office of FXW. Both reached senior management levels in the banking world in Wales before launching independent careers.

FXW director Paul Crane said: "In his 10 years maintaining Cardiff Backpackers as the number one hostel in Wales, Sion has proved he knows what the market wants and can deliver.
FXW, formerly Finance Exchange Wales, was founded five years ago by directors Paul Crane and Simon Harrison, whose long careers at senior levels with Barclays Bank have given them an in-depth knowledge of the finance industry.
FXW currently employs nine, with further recruitment in the pipeline.
The Banks have a varying degree of appetite for the scheme but nonetheless FXW had an offer of funding in place within 7 days.
