I have seen one made by Fairbanks-Morse. The engine was a 1-cylinder flywheel-type with a radiator attached for cooling.
Fairbanks-Morse had started out manufacturing scales but by 1910 was heavily involved in building gas and kerosene engines and had begun experimenting with a tractor.
To handle that, Dad rigged a used Type T vertical Fairbanks-Morse engine to an automotive 6-volt generator that replenished our three batteries.
