Tracking mesoscale ocean features in the Caribbean Sea using
Geosat altimetry.

Geosat follow-on using satellite laser ranging data and intermission altimeter crossovers," in 2001 Flight Mechanics Symposium, Greenbelt, MD, USA, 2001.
The RMSE is less than 0.4 m for all satellites (except for Phase 1 of
GEOSAT).
Gravity anomalies derived from Seasat,
Geosat, ERS-1 and TOPEX/POSEIDON altimetry and ship gravity: a case study over the Reykjanes Ridge.
Siano Mobile Silicon, a mobile TV chip maker, announced on 10 September that Italian GPS manufacturer AvMap has selected Siano to provide mobile TV functionality for its
Geosat 6 in car navigation system, due to be used in Peugeot's 207 Energie Sport model.
Others have followed, such as
GeoSat Follow-On (GFO) for the US Navy in 1998, Jason-1 in 2001 and EnviSat in 2002.
Studies of ridge-hotspot interactions received a major boost in 1995 when the US Navy declassified gravity data from its
Geosat satellite, which flew from 1985 to 1990.
This is only one example of reinterpretations resulting from later technological developments of a more sophisticated nature, including satellite mapping of large-scale crustal features through high-resolution
Geosat altimetry, ERS-1, and others.
The next satellite to pursue this kind of ocean monitoring is the
Geosat Follow-On, to be launched in late 1996 or early 1997.
