GLWD's mission is to improve the health and well-being of men, women and children living with serious illnesses by alleviating hunger and malnutrition.
"When we acquire a new donor, we give them the opportunity to chose not to receive any more solicitations from us," said Thomas Daubert, manager of marketing and communications for GLWD. He is also the president of the Direct Marketing Fundraisers Association in New York City.
Daubert said GLWD just completed a revamp of its privacy policy to keep up with technology, something that had not been done in six or seven years.
