As the mobile industry gathers in Barcelona, the GSMA recognized Kaan Terzioglu, CEO of Turkcell (NYSE: TKC) (BIST: TCELL), for his contribution to the mobile industry with the GSMA's 'Outstanding Contribution to the Mobile Industry Award' for 2019, the company said.
The GSMA organises the most important mobile events in the world, such as the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the Mobile World Congress in Shanghai, the Mobile World Congress in the America and the Mobile 360 Series conferences.

Commenting on his appointment as MD, Zouhair Khaliq said, "GSMA Mobile for Development brings together the mobile operator members, the wider mobile industry and the development community to drive commercial mobile services for underserved people in emerging markets.
It is contesting under the category of GSMA mWomen Best Mobile Product or Service for Women in Emerging Markets.
GSMA represents the interests of mobile operators worldwide, spanning more than 220 countries and uniting nearly 800 of the world's mobile operators with more than 230 companies in the broader mobile ecosystem, including handset makers, software companies, equipment providers and Internet companies, as well as organisations in industry sectors such as financial services, healthcare, media, transport and utilities.
The GSMA also announced that Qtel Group chief executive officer Dr Nasser Marafih has been appointed chairman of the board of the GSMA Mobile for Development Foundation (previously GSMA Foundation), which promotes the work of GSMA Mobile for Development with the international development community and brokers and manages public-private partnerships.
