Parametric studies have been carried out to find the load-settlement behavior of the multi layer geosynthetic-reinforced soil as well as that of the unreinforced soil.
Addressing first supported excavations and then mechanically stabilized earth retaining walls, the 93 selected and refereed papers examine such topics as recommendations for assessing bending moments for stiff wall systems, results of an instrumented helical soil nail wall, the design and construction of circular cofferdams for earth retention in a flyash disposal basin, mobilizing reinforcement tension with geosynthetic-reinforced soil structures, the collapse of mechanically stabilized earth wall panels due to the effects of freezing temperatures, the seismic design of retaining walls, a three-dimensional analysis of the construction process for tunneling Donghu Metro Station in Guangzhou, and prehistoric landslide stabilization with ground anchors and surface reaction pads.
A study was undertaken to investigate the behavior of Geosynthetic-Reinforced Soil (GRS) masses under various loading conditions and to develop a simplified analytical model for predicting deformation characteristics of a generic GRS mass.
