"Two 'border
haats' at Bholaganj and Ryngku both in East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya bordering Bangladesh will become operational by September while another at Nolikata in South West Khasi Hills district will become functional by December this year," Suchiang said.
Livestock officials are present in each of these
haats to check the animals.
At present, two border
Haats are operational at Kamalasagar in Sepahijala district of Tripura and Srinagar in South Tripura district.
Tripura will get six
haats while Meghalaya will get four.
A decision was taken in the meeting to expedite the procedure of setting up six more border
haats within the next six months, said a ministry press release here.

haats (markets) along the India-Bangladesh border.
The markets, popularly known as '
haats', would be set up in Kasba area of west Tripura, Raghna and Kamalpur in north Tripura, and Srinagar in South Tripura.
