West Communications and the University of Minnesota Medical School Department of Radiology began the High-Definition Distance Learning (HDDL) project to develop and integrate communication technology to support distance training for physicians and other health care practitioners.
The HDDL project provides interactive radiology lectures and discussions including simultaneous video, audio, and dual digital slide projection over ATM connections between the University of Minnesota Hospital, Hennepin County Medical Center, and the Veterans Administration Hospital in Minneapolis.
