Also, a Thai study (10) that compared the projections of future demand for nurses using the staff-to-population ratio, population health needs, and HeSDA showed that although some variation in the estimates was generally seen amongst the three methods, the difference decreased with increasing time horizon (for example, reducing from 40 000 in 2005 to just 10 000 by 2015) and the estimates converged at the end of the forecast period.
