Comprised of representatives from medical treatment facilities, medical supply and device manufacturers and distributors, laboratories, the pharmaceutical industry, health insurers, and mortuary services, the HSCC includes subcommittees managing direct healthcare, medical materials, mass fatality management, pharmaceuticals/labs/blood, health information and medical technology, health plans and payers.
In order to achieve overall resiliency against all threats as well as prevent or minimize damage to, or destruction of, the nation's healthcare and public health infrastructure, the HSCC has worked with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to launch the Homeland Security Information Network-Healthcare and Public Health Sector (HSIN-HPH).
