This HUMC study is based on nationwide data collected from the Korean National Health Insurance program between 2002 and 2014.

For the first 2 objectives, we identified child and adult inpatients and those seen in the emergency department with A(H1N1)pdm09 disease by using 4 overlapping data sources, including the following: 1) prospectively collected electronic A(H1N1)pdm09 virus laboratory-based surveillance data obtained by the HUMC clinical virology laboratory and the Infection Prevention and Control Department; 2) electronic, pharmacy-based oseltamivir utilization data; and 3) data on point-of-care testing performed in the emergency department.
Initially HUMC is expected to use RayStation as its treatment planning system at Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital and Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital for conventional 3D-CRT treatments, as well as more advanced treatments including IMRT and VMAT.
"The numbers can be a smoke detector," says Louis Teichholz, M.D., division chief of cardiology and director of cardiac services at HUMC. "Smoke detectors go off when there's a fire--and sometimes when you're making pizza--so the data should be the beginning of a dialogue."
The new facility is designed to provide more privacy and increased comfort to support the high level of care HUMC provides.
Specifically, real-time, wireless access to patient information and clinical applications, such as computerized physician order entry (CPOE) deployed across the medical center campus, is allowing HUMC's peripatetic physicians, nurses and other staff members to improve decision-making, speed treatment and help ensure patient safety--with the desirable side effect of cost savings.
Under terms of the agreement, HUMC will receive a three-year payment for its laboratory, and will continue to use Progenitor to process stem cells for the hospital's transplant program.
In a statement HUMC said that it is the first hospital in New Jersey and the first in the northeastern United States to use the technology and is one of three centers in the country utilizing it.
