Among the patients with vaginal malformation, 73 (10.2%) were complicated by the urinary system malformation, and most were MRKH (12.7%) and HWWS (35.6%); and in patients with uterine malformation, 38 (5.3%) were complicated by the urinary system malformation.
Based on the analysis, it was found that a statistically significant difference ( P < 0.01) exists between the two patient populations; the greatest proportion of patients with vaginal malformations had MRKH syndrome (44.8%), HWWS (18.5%), or congenital atresia of the vagina (14.3%).
These imaging features were diagnostic of HWW syndrome with an intrauterine pregnancy in the left horn with possible incomplete longitudinal vaginal septum, resulting in partial spontaneous decompression of the right hemivagina, which explains the delay in diagnosis until pregnancy.

We have explored the clinical characteristics of HWWS and have published related papers in recent years.[sup][6],[7] Based on these papers, we proposed the classification.
As the key-point for treatment of "HWWS" is the resection of the vaginal septum, we propose the term of "oblique vaginal septum syndrome (OVSS)" instead of "HWWS" as the former is easier to understand.
[sup][4] Since that time, the anomaly of HWWS has appeared as a single case report or as a small series in the literature.
In March 2013, based on Tong' study,[sup] [9] we updated relevant information regarding HWWS patients at our hospital.
Of these 2238 cases, 79 patients (3.53%) were diagnosed with HWWS. A retrospective long-term follow-up study of the clinical presentation, surgical prognosis, and pregnancy outcomes was performed.
The introduction of HWW presents several challenges for wheat supply channels.
These reasons have led experiment stations to consider alternatives to a public release of HWW varieties.
